Corvus Pharmaceuticals Advances Oral ITK Inhibitor in Multiple Diseases

Key takeaways
- Corvus Pharmaceuticals is testing its oral ITK inhibitor, soquelitinib, across five diseases
- 75% of high-dose soquelitinib patients in an atopic dermatitis trial hit EASI-75 after eight weeks
- The benefits of soquelitinib in atopic dermatitis persisted even after dosing stopped
On August 6, Corvus Pharmaceuticals (CRVS) reported its second-quarter earnings, highlighting the progress of its oral ITK inhibitor, soquelitinib. The drug is being tested across five diseases, including a rare blood cancer and asthma. The company's most promising results are in atopic dermatitis, where 75% of patients on high-dose soquelitinib hit EASI-75 after eight weeks, compared to 20% on placebo. A quarter of treated patients reached EASI-90, and a third achieved clear or almost-clear skin. The benefits persisted even after dosing stopped, unlike other drugs in the class. Corvus is funding a Phase 2 trial, SEERA-1, with enrollment ending in early 2027. The company ended the quarter with $215 million in cash and marketable securities, thanks to a $189 million follow-on offering in Q1. R&D costs increased significantly due to higher trial costs and added headcount for soquelitinib. The company's most advanced program is a Phase 3 trial in relapsed or refractory peripheral T-cell lymphoma, with no public readout expected soon.
